Improving the international logistical infrastructure
of the Amsterdam Port / Airport Area.
a. industries / shippers
The Logistic Platform for the industry / shippers has
been set up in the year 2000 by Ahold, Corus, Amsterdam Port Authority.
It concentrates on the set up of Practical cooperation projects of
industries / shippers.
Policy implications of these practical projects, such as for example
requests for additional infrastructure, are not the subject of the
Logistic Platform. This is the subject of other organisations in the
Amsterdam Port Airport Area.

logistical service providers
The Logistic Platform will set up a similar but separate
practical cooperation platform for the logistical service providers
in the Amsterdam Port Airport area.
Main aims
of the logistic platform
Development of practical and commercially viable
logistic cooperation projects of shippers concentrated on:
- better use of the transport capacities of existing transport
infrastructure
- stimulating the use of transport by water and rail
- exchange of best practice examples of logistical solutions
- combining cargostreams of the participating shippers in international
logistic corridors
- development of door to door logistical systems in the main
logistical corridors of the participants
- development and implementation of innovative logistical solutions
- development and implementation of supporting logistical ICT
instruments
- set up of commercially viable organisations for logistical
solutions
