Transaction Modal Shift (TMS)
In 2001 and 2002 the ministry of Transport and Public Works has, with assistance of the Amsterdam Port Authority, taken the initiative for a logistical survey amongst industries / shippers in the Amsterdam Port Airport Area.
Aim: improving logistical efficiency and reducing roadtransport by combining cargostreams of the participating industries.
The survey showed several possibilities that could realise this aim. At this moment (March 2002) the project concentrates on improvement of logistical processes in three of the particpating industries.
